Reviews Summary

Baños de Coamo is often praised as a peaceful, historical oasis with healing mineral waters, offering a natural spa experience. Visitors appreciate the affordable entry, clean facilities, and serene surroundings, especially when visiting during off-peak hours. However, some reviews mention concerns about water clarity and occasional maintenance issues, suggesting that timing and expectations are key to a positive visit.

"A peaceful, historical oasis — truly one of Puerto Rico’s hidden gems!

Baños de Coamo is a must-visit for anyone seeking a quiet escape into nature and history. Nestled in the serene hills of Coamo, this hot spring is not just about relaxation — it’s about connecting with a deep cultural legacy. The site is believed to be used by the Taíno people centuries ago, and there's even a legend that Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León thought it might be the Fountain of Youth. Standing in the warm, mineral-rich waters, it's easy to understand why.

There are two pools: one gently warm and perfect for long, meditative soaks, and another that's hotter, better for shorter bursts of heat therapy. The surrounding area is lush and peaceful, with plenty of trees and mountain views — ideal for clearing the mind.

The facilities are clean, simple, and affordable (entry is under $5), with showers, changing rooms, and even a small café and gift shop nearby. It never feels crowded, which adds to the tranquility. Locals and visitors alike come here not just for the healing waters, but for the calm and quiet that’s increasingly rare in our busy world.

Highly recommended for a half-day trip — bring a towel, a good book, and let the waters do their magic."

"The best time to visit is early morning and so worth it ! Your skin will definitely thank you. Clean and quite place gift shop has lots to offer and the restroom is super clean ."

Brenda Monroy-Felipe -Realtor

"I find it astonishing that this establishment has garnered 5-star reviews. Our experience here was nothing short of appalling. What I anticipated to be a serene and peaceful visit turned out to be entirely the opposite. The water was not only unclean, but describing it as such feels like an understatement. My mother and I were eager to bring my husband, who endures severe daily pain, and we felt profoundly disappointed. To exacerbate the situation, we witnessed a woman bathing in the water with a bar of soap, and there were no staff present to address this unacceptable behavior. In addition to the murky water, we also detected a foul odor reminiscent of sewage near the springs. I must express that I have no intention of returning, and I would certainly not recommend this place to others."
