What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Cueva María de la Cruz a fascinating historical site with unique geological features, offering a glimpse into ancient Taíno life. While the cave itself is small, its historical significance and natural elements are appreciated. Some visitors note that tours are not heavily advertised and that maintenance can affect accessibility.
"Fascinating place with lots of history, but you would drive right by or not know anything about it unless you found a tour (and they don't seem to be advertised). Apparently you are also supposed to pay to enter. Be quiet inside the cave, there are many beehives and they will buzz down to protect the hive. One of the cave entries was closed due to an unsafe bridge and stairs into it. Maintenance crews were on-site and working hard to clear branches and such."
Angelique Colon
"The entire tour is about 15 minutes but you can get a peak into history as you look at these underworld caves that are made of Sea Coral that you would have never expected to see above land. This is one of these hidden gems that allows you to experience the enormity of our world and the vastness of our history right here in our literal backyard in Loíza."
Vincente Calderon
"This was another amazing stop during our tour. The information presented about it's history, and use was top notch."
