"We loved Playa Almendras! On a day when other beaches were packed and dealing with rough waves from Hurricane Erin, this spot was completely empty and had calm, beautiful water. It felt like our own private paradise.
This is definitely a “self-sufficient” type of beach — no chairs, food stands, or shade rentals, so bring what you need. We just hung our clothes on a tree and enjoyed the sand and the peaceful waves.
Parking is along the side road and condos, and while the sand incline to get down to the beach is a little steep, it’s very manageable. Totally worth it for the serenity and natural beauty."
