Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently awestruck by the sheer immensity and natural beauty of the Danube Delta, praising its abundant wildlife and unique aquatic landscapes. While many highlight the incredible birdwatching and serene boat trips, some express concerns about the lack of regulation and potential environmental impact from certain tours, urging for more responsible tourism practices.

"We are still in awe of the wonder we have just witnessed—the sheer immensity of the water. The Danube Delta spans over 1,550 square miles (4,000 square kilometers), making it 3.3 times larger than New York City total area. This vast area of natural reserves includes both permanent and temporary ecosystems. The Danube Delta’s natural reserves are truly a testament to the beauty and resilience of nature. Its vast expanse of water, teeming with life, and its vibrant ecosystems remind us of the delicate balance that sustains our planet. It’s a place that inspires awe and a deep appreciation for the natural world. The interplay of water and land creates a landscape that feels almost otherworldly, where time seems to slow down. Whether exploring its labyrinth of waterways by boat, marveling at the vibrant bird colonies, or simply soaking in the tranquility, the Danube Delta offers an experience that lingers in the heart and mind. The sight of birds in flight, the gentle rustle of reeds in the wind, and the kaleidoscope of colors from its flora create an impression so profound that it’s impossible to forget."

"We got here through a trip facilitated by the guesthouse staff. We did not know exactly what will happen. When we arrived at Caraorman forest , we noticed that the entry is actually forbidden and there is a gate. So, did we do something illegal actually?.. Getting in Caraorman by high speed boat we went through narrow channels, disturbing the creatures - probably not ok either. The guy in the forest have info, the boat driver almost nothing. No restroom in the 5 hours trip at 120 ron for boat plus 35 ron for car into forest. No tickets, no receipts, all money given without fiscalization, so black money, nothing goes back into the environment . And it is the locals that break the rules first.. Authorities fail to do their part and the locals exploit the environment for money without consideration."
