"Impressively preserved with a reflecting moat and a museum inside. Less touristic, with deep medieval and communist-era history."

At the Făgăraș Fortress. This was used as a military base. Recently renovated. I love the water around it. #europe #romania #travel #europa #mandytravelstheworld #transylvania #ro #carpathian #history #fortress #romania #historic

While some find the interior a bit 'clean,' most visitors appreciate the well-organized displays and the magnificent views from the wall walk. It's considered a worthwhile stop, especially for its historical significance and less crowded atmosphere.

"A great fortress. Freshly renovated.

A bit too 'clean' for my liking. However, it was overall very informative and fun to explore. The museum is full of Large expansive spaces filled with trinkets of bygone times, and the wall offer great views of the expanding surroundings.

Well worth a visit"

Chris Oh! Boylesque

"Very cool citadel and fortifications.
The expo shows a lot but not overwhelmingly so. You can see old furniture, costumes, jewellery, weapons, books and pottery. The walk on the walls of the fortification offers a magnificent view.
The throne room is very cool with wooden matching furniture sets.
I recommend it."

Nikita Veshchikov

"The outside is lovely. The interior museum is small, but it's a nice stop if you're in the area or passing through.

(Note: Last admission is 5pm, but once inside it's open until 6.)"
