What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty and unique rock formations at Piatra Pinului, particularly Hawks Rock and the panoramic views from the summit and observation tower. The hiking trails offer a rewarding moderate challenge, blending nature immersion with the convenience of potential amenities like a sky lift. Some find the driving directions confusing and note that trail difficulty requires proper footwear.
"One of the coolest hiking routes in the area. You just have to follow the blue cross and you will get up to the Hawks Rock (piatra șoimului) and from there continue for about half an hour to get to the top of the sky slope. It is a beautiful forest path with beautiful scenery but just know it is not easy. You get beautiful views of the city through the forest and more importantly the view of the rocks that make this whole experience unique. If the sky lift is functional you can go down from there with ease or if the terrace is open you can enjoy drinks at the top. You can experience both deep nature immersion and amenities of the modern world in one go."

"From the parking of the ski slope you can reach the blue or the red track. The blue is at end end of the parking, the red at the middle. Better to climb on the blue one and descend on the other one based on slope and the views yo be enjoyed. Both take around 45 minutes and they are nice. Up top there is a tower with a great view. Google maps gives a wrong path for driving there."

"From the Soimul observation tower we went down the path that starts through the forest right next to the chairlift. There is also a road that can be climbed and descended with an off-road vehicle. On the path, the silence of nature is completed by the monotonous murmur of a stream that always meanders along the path. From time to time, a chirp or a happy cry of those flying on the Bucovina mega zipline above the path pierces the silence. The path is not very difficult and lasts 45 minutes. It ends abruptly above the paid parking lot."
