Visitors rave about Retezat National Park's breathtaking natural beauty, calling it one of Europe's most stunning locations. The diverse landscapes, from glacial lakes to majestic peaks, offer spectacular hiking and camping experiences. While the park is wild and requires preparedness for variable weather and wildlife, the overwhelming sentiment is one of awe and recommendation for nature lovers.
"This place is absolutely amazing! One of the most beautiful places in Europe I would say. Romania is definitely a very beautiful country! You have it all, from impressive trees, majestic rivers to outstanding mountains, spectacular caves and stunning lakes. One of the most beautiful countries in Europe from nature point of view.
Of course, as you find yourself in the heart of nature also be aware of animals, especially bears. This country has the biggest number of bears so obviously being their home sometimes it's possible that you will see one or two.
Please don't feed the bears or try to pet them! They are wild animals and just try to ignore them and move away as soon as you can. Remember! They were here first! So you are the one that invades their home!"

"One of the best mountains to see and hike in Romania.
Difficulty and length ranges from easy to difficult and the scenery is spectacular especially late in the season when the leaves on the trees are starting to change colours."
