The recently renovated baroque rooms are a particular highlight, showcasing stunning artistry. The palace gardens offer a peaceful retreat, complementing the historical significance of the site.
"This is a wonderful palace, with great architecture and beautiful paintings inside. I was lucky enough to visit when it wasn't too crowded and got some more information from the curators."

"What a surprise. We were ignorant to the long and rich history of the diocese of Oradea Mare.
While the museum in the Episcopal palace retells the history of it's patron saint and itself in Rumanian, Hungarian and English (the latter digitally, reading the QR codes) on the ground floor, the real riches of the place are shown on the first floor.
A huge palace in its own right that boasts that even the heir apparent and later emperor of Austria and king of Hungary Franz Josef marvelled at it's splendor in comparison to Vienna.
In the baroque rooms, freshly renovated, the riches of the Catholic church are presented. But all the gold and diamonds are of theological import it is explained ... Not just a show of surprising riches of the institution mind you 😉
Outside the palace gardens and the cathedral form a harmonic unity you will be glad to have visited while in Oradea."

"Visited the park, outside and the church next to the palace. The park is perfect to spend 1-1.5h of quiet and peaceful time. Nicely maintained garden, lot of benches to sit on. Good place to rest during a city-tour"
