What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Valea Cetății Cave to be a pleasant, albeit brief, natural attraction. The unique 'darkness experience' and the scenic forest walk are frequently praised. Some reviewers note the cave's size and the price for the short tour duration, but overall, it's considered a worthwhile stop for its unique sensory engagement and well-maintained facilities.
"Expect a steep and unpaved walk to the cave. You can visit cave with an instructor every 30 minutes and the visit does not last longer than 15 minutes. Although small cave I really enjoyed the opportunity to be in the darkness for 30 seconds to listen water tripping and imagine being there alone."

"Very nice cave with a 15 minute tour. You go into the cave and they play a recording describing the cave's history and such (with English translation) and then they turn off the lights so you can see nothing and only hear drops of water falling. The trek to the cave is about 10-15 minutes of somewhat challenging ascent (through a beautiful forest) and tours happen every 30 minutes, so it's best to plan accordingly to arrive close to tour time or you will have to wait (we arrived right as a tour started so we had to wait 30 minutes 😬). I recommend visiting in one of the last tours in the day to avoid crowds."

"Nice place to visit. Cave is quite small, tour takes about 15-20minutes. For the while they are switching off the lights, so there is complete darkness (better not to move then). It's worth to mention, they have a recording about the history of this place also in English."
