What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Ruginoasa Palace for its historical authenticity and well-preserved interiors, offering a genuine glimpse into Prince Cuza's era. The unique hologram feature is a notable highlight. However, many express disappointment with the neglected state of the palace gardens, which detracts from the overall aesthetic and ambiance.
"A lovely place, full of history and vintage things that transpond you into that era. Unfortunately we couldn't get a guide as there was only 2 of us and not a group of 10, despite the fact that we offered to pay full price for the guide."
Catalin Borangic
"The palace seemed much smaller than I remembered, and the garden was in a sorry state. Overrun with crows / ravens, the trees were being ravaged, and there were even dead birds near the statues. The loud, eerie cawing of the birds created an almost apocalyptic atmosphere, ironically juxtaposed with a couple sharing a romantic moment nearby.
The grass was overgrown and untrimmed, giving the whole area a neglected feel. It felt like a beautiful palace plucked straight from the Addams Family’s residence. Sadly, the charm I remembered was overshadowed by the poor maintenance and unsettling ambiance."

"Very beautiful palace! The garden is disappointing, they should make it worthy of a palace.
There is no sign to let you know about it, but Cuza's former resting place (and where his sons are still buried) is in the courtyard of the nearby church."
