What Travellers Say

Visitors praise the park's transformation into a meaningful space that beautifully combines historical remembrance with recreational opportunities. The military exhibition and memorial sites are particularly impactful, while the playground and smooth paths offer great family fun. Some note the long walk to the eternal flame and the crowds on holidays.
"The last time I was here was in the early 2000s. During this time, the place has changed a lot, transformed. It has become more comfortable, if you can say that about the park. A beautiful place with meaning! Memory is priceless, as long as we remember, our grandfathers continue to live! The stele makes your heart skip a beat. And how many exhibits of military equipment. History lessons can be held."

"We used to call it simply the Memorial, but now it's the Victory Central Park of Culture and Leisure. Everything has changed dramatically. It's a beautiful, massive structure. There's a lot of military equipment, which children love to explore. There are stands with the names of the heroes and those who died in WWII. There's an eternal flame, and five huge steles from 1941-1945. The grounds are large and well-maintained. It's especially crowded on May 9th."

"A sacred place for Chita and Zabaikalsk residents, a school of patriotism and memory for the younger generation. Post number 1. Gray-haired people with their grandchildren and children come here to the eternal flame, to the slabs with the names of those who laid down their lives on the altar of Victory. However, these are not just silent slabs, they are also an open-air museum of technology. Memorial events are held here on May 9, June 22 and February 23. Reconstructions of battles from the Great Patriotic War are held. The only downside: to get to the eternal flame, you need to go a long way."
