Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking natural beauty of Black Lake, highlighting its crystal-clear waters and stunning mountain backdrop. The easy walking trails and serene atmosphere make it a perfect escape for nature lovers and families alike. Some note the cold water for swimming and the long drive, but overall, it's considered a must-visit in Montenegro.

"Super establishment! Hookah and coffee, teas, cocktails, milkshakes. Arabic style cafe. The best natural hookah in the city, like in Egypt, because it is made by Arabs, just like teas. Very cozy atmosphere and pleasant polite staff. And Muhamed (from Egypt), oh, the hookah and coffee he makes is just a fairy tale. I advise all residents and guests of our city of Kazan to visit this wonderful place and plunge into the atmosphere of an Arabian fairy tale."

Светлана

"A very atmospheric place, we were there almost at night, we sat quietly, the music was beyond praise! Cozy, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. A good clean toilet, which is important. And a great location. Prices are average, large selection of hookahs"

Ирина Ф

"We were in Kazan for the first day. Walking around we came across this cafe. It catches your eye at first sight, with its cozy atmosphere!
Delicious sweets, aromatic tea and a magical steam cocktail at a nice price. We were pleased with the cold hookah pipe, which was changed twice.
The staff is all polite and friendly)"

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The Glacial Origins of Black Lake

Black Lake, or Crno Jezero, is one of Montenegro's most stunning natural attractions. It's a prime example of a glacial lake, formed by the erosion and deposition of glaciers during the last ice age. Nestled within the dramatic landscape of Durmitor National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the lake sits at an elevation of 1,416 meters above sea level. Its name, 'Black Lake,' is thought to derive from the dark, almost black hue the water can appear due to the surrounding dense pine forests and the depth of the lake. Instagram

The lake is actually composed of two smaller lakes, Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Small Lake), which merge during the warmer months when the water level is higher. This natural phenomenon adds to the lake's unique charm. The surrounding Durmitor Massif provides a breathtaking backdrop, with peaks like Međed Peak towering over the serene waters, creating a truly iconic vista. Instagram

Visitors often describe the experience as truly serene and picturesque. The clarity of the water, combined with the lush greenery and imposing mountains, makes it a photographer's paradise and a haven for nature lovers seeking tranquility. Instagram+1
