The new exhibition had english description and interactive screens for more details. The staff were very friendly. I'm not sure if anyone speakes English but my it's probably rare to have non-russian speakers visitors. Our guide spend probably an hour explaining all the details and various exhibitions.

"Great, well thought and well arranged museum. Highlight is reconstruction of real coal mine, it's so touching that gives you goosebumps. A lot of interesting information about coal mining, about foreign community in Kemerovo in 1920s, collection of real bug scale mining vehicles. Excursion with guide (excellent work btw) is only in Russian, so you better take interpreter with you in order to appreciate all depth of that museum."
