"Ancient church of the city, immersed in the beautiful riverside park
Externally it is very beautiful, but inside it offers beautiful paintings and many important icons"
Rossano Virgili
"The Church of St. Innocent of Irkutsk is an Orthodox church in the Kirovsky District of Khabarovsk in honor of St. Innocent, built in 1869 on the slope of Voennaya Mountain. The church was rebuilt in stone in 1896-1898. The Church of St. Innocent was closed by the godless in 1931, and the building was used for economic needs. Soon after the closure of the Church of St. Innocent in 1931, the cemetery located on its territory began to be systematically destroyed. Only a few graves, at the insistence of relatives, were moved to the current city cemetery. From 1964 to 1992, the Khabarovsk Planetarium operated in the building of the church, with the entrance arranged through the altar. Work on the restoration of the church began in 1991, in October 1992 the church building was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, and in 1993 educational activities resumed."

"In my opinion, the most beautiful temple in Khabarovsk! Earlier, in Soviet times, there was a planetarium in this building!"
