"The 19-metre obelisk, at the foot of which is the Eternal Flame, is located opposite Heroes' Square. Behind it is a fountain of sorrow, between parts of its granite drops of water roll down, similar to tears. At the foot of the granite there is an inscription. The monument was unveiled in 1967 on Heroes' Square. In 1975, walls were added to the monument, covering the cemetery. In 2005, a marble stele was installed for the 60th anniversary of the victory."
