Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Komsomol of Magnitka Monument as a significant art piece and a symbol of Magnitogorsk's industrial heritage. The surrounding Chapayev Square park is noted for its pleasant atmosphere, recent reconstruction, and family-friendly amenities like a playground and exercise equipment. It's considered a good spot for walks and relaxation.

"A monumental art piece of federal significance.
On October 28, 1958, the eve of the Komsomol's 40th anniversary, a memorial plaque with a bas-relief of V.I. Lenin was laid in Chapayev Square. The words "A monument to the Komsomol members who built Magnitka" were cast on it. The monument was unveiled on May 9, 1966, the day of the first Magnitka builders' meeting.
It was built with funds earned by Magnitogorsk Komsomol members during community service days.
On a high pedestal is a two-figure sculptural composition of forged aluminum – a young man and woman, seemingly stepping out of the distant 1930s, gaze into the distance, into their future. The pedestal is made of red brick, topped by a white marble band bearing the inscription: "To the first Komsomol builders of Magnitka, from Komsomol members of the 1960s. May 1966."
The sculpture was created by V.S. Zaikov, and the architect is N.N. Kovalenko.
