What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bunker-42 offers a fascinating and unique glimpse into the Cold War, with visitors praising the immersive experience of descending into a real Soviet anti-nuclear bunker. The historical exhibits and the sheer scale of the facility are highlights. However, the primary language barrier for tours is a significant drawback for many international tourists, and some wish for better multilingual support.
"It was amazing experiencing what goes on inside a real life bunker and command center for nuclear attacks.
My only criticism is that most guides and cash desk officers do not speak English/Arabic which is very hard for tourists to understand anything. We mostly took pictures and translated later (no service underground) or tried to read some translated plates on some devices/uniforms etc.
Generally, a worthwhile experience!"

"It was an amazing experience having the opportunity to visit a former real-life nuclear command center. When you enter there are quite a few steps you have to walk down as the museum is 65m underground. There are props from the original center and you get to watch a movie about the history of the Cold War.The guided tour is ONLY in Russian, though. I think it'll be much better if non-Russian speaking visitors have recorders with earphones that have different languages on it."

"My experience was fantastic, thanks to our creative guide Alexander. He provided clear explanations without any language barriers. I highly recommend visiting the bunker with him, as there's an intriguing surprise that you'll have to discover for yourself!"
