Short, Sweet Rides

Expect rides to be around 1-2 minutes, depending on the huskies' energy. :stopwatch:

Husky sledding di Penangkaran Anjing Husky di Murmansk Rusia Sekali naik, satu putaran sekitar 1 menit 20 detik, kecepatan/kelamaan naik sleddingnya tergantung tingkat keloyoan dari Husky nya. Lah dia khan pasti lelah narik kereta bawa beban minimal 150 kg (penumpang dan pengemudi) seharian. Itu sebabnya juga kenapa putarannya sangat pendek… Mau gantian narik, Husky nya yg jadi penumpang? 🤭😜😂 #...

"The huskies melt my heart 🥹😍
They're all very friendly and love being pet, I made sure I give them plenty of scratches and rubs. I got a pack with 2 female alphas. Girls rule!
Riding the sled pulled by 8 huskies is very fun too, the payment is just head scratches and hugs 🥰🥰"

"I highly recommend visiting the husky camp to any tourist in the Murmansk region. Anna and Alex are excellent hosts who are commited to provide you with a great experience. As we were an international group, it was also great that they could speak English so well. Speaking of the tour itself, it is a unique experience, the surroundings are beautiful and it is a great feeling to drive the dog sled. The animals are very tame and were treated very respectfully. We took turns driving a kilometre at a time while the others followed behind on the snowmobile. It definitely felt long enough for us, those who want can book also longer. Afterwards we had tea and a warm lunch, as well as time to pet the dogs again."

"During my few days in Murmansk my highlight was definitely Husky Murmansk! I would recommend it to everyone, especially if you want a great experience with cute huskies, interesting information and two guides, which are really friendly and helpful. We had a delicious russian meal and warm tea, which was warmed us up.
After the official part, they were happy to answer our questions and helped us find another activity to find that was near, as we had to cancel some plans. Not only did they phone people to ask if they still had places left, but they also drove us to the other event.
So overall it was a really heartwarming experience focused on huskies!"

Understanding the Sled Ride

The actual dog sled ride, while exhilarating, is typically quite short, lasting around 1 to 2 minutes. This brevity is due to the physical demands on the huskies, who are pulling considerable weight. Instagram Visitors understand and appreciate this, recognizing the dogs' effort. Some tours offer options for longer rides or allow participants to take turns driving. The surrounding Arctic scenery during the ride adds to the magic, with snow-covered landscapes providing a stunning backdrop. Instagram

Dressing for the Arctic: Essential Winter Gear

Murmansk experiences harsh winter conditions, making appropriate clothing paramount for enjoying dog sledding. The key is layering. Start with a thermal base layer to wick away moisture, followed by an insulating mid-layer like fleece or down. The outermost layer should be a waterproof and windproof jacket and pants to protect against snow and biting winds. TikTok

Don't forget extremities! Insulated, waterproof boots are non-negotiable for keeping your feet warm and dry. Warm gloves or mittens are essential, and consider bringing liner gloves for added dexterity. A warm hat that covers your ears is also crucial. Many visitors recommend bringing a scarf or neck gaiter to protect your face from the cold. TikTok While tours often provide warm drinks, having your own thermos of hot tea or coffee can be a welcome comfort during your Arctic adventure. Reddit
