What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Alexander Kuprin Museum to be a worthwhile stop, particularly for its impressive natural history exhibits like the mammoth skeleton and its historical military displays. While the museum's presentation is traditional and most information is in Russian, its affordability and the sheer volume of genuine artifacts make it a valuable cultural experience.
"Not a word in English, but if you're new to Penza's Culture and Nature and willing to use Google translator with camera then that's an excellent start. If employees can speak English they would have been the friendliest i am sure. Otherwise, they speak only Russian and cannot help much.
Paleontology was a good surprise. History of war hero was a surprise too. Not best presentation, lighting was bad, stuffed animals seemed a bit outdated of a museum but they their natural postures and amazing sizes and living movements were a very impressive value to see them closest to their normalcy.
Tickets for foreigners (not sure of Russians if same) were ₽220 which is not bad.
I was pleased to see how Russian kids with teachers are all over the place having guessing games on knowledge of the exhibited items"

"Old fashioned museum, but not everybody like multimedial-historical "nothing". There you can see real historical artefacts from starches to 20th century.
Mammut skeleton is interesting, same about expositions about civil war and patriotic war.
High recommended to visit."

"Statues of abnormal and mutated and differently abled persons and much more"
