Reviews Summary

Visitors acknowledge the historical significance of the Lermontov Duel Site, particularly for literature enthusiasts. While the monument itself is modest, the surrounding park offers a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for reflection. Some suggest a guide is beneficial for a deeper understanding.

"Historic place, but otherwise, there's nothing special about it. The nearby parks are nice, though."

Maxim Shapovalov

"Well. First of all don't expect much. It is just a monument and rather nice figures around it. But. No big deal. Not as far as I saw. But biggest point is how it was done. You see. Long time ago in Russia lived this poet who was also short and with complexes but at same time very romantic. At least they say so. I think he just didn't get laid as much as he wanted so he turned to writing poems, getting drunk and pissing people with his talks... After one of those occasions guy put a bullet in his body. Finitto la comedia.
Not really. Apparently everyone was so fond of that little guy that they promptly build this monument and started celebrating his work..."

Dejan Bosanac

"He has Scottish heritage and I am reading A Hero of our Time. Russians revere their literary poets/authors. But some doubt whether this is the duel location. No matter! Lots of people there."
