What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Pyatigorsk Local History Museum to be an affordable and educational experience, particularly for its nature and historical exhibits. While some exhibits may feel dated, the friendly staff and reasonable prices make it a worthwhile visit. Parking and cash payment are common considerations.
"A double impression. Big, beautiful. Old and scary to walk on the parquet. Four floors. Entrance 150 rubles for adults. Children under 14 are free."

"A traditional local history museum with a full-fledged educational focus, children will surely enjoy the halls on the first and second floors (nature and history before the postwar period) and the "historical and literary" ascent to the third floor. The third floor exhibit, however, is a bit odd. It seems they've collected everything that couldn't fit on the first and second floors, although, for example, the material on the historical photography of Pyatigorsk and Kislovodsk would be worthy of a separate "niche" in the history halls. The fourth floor is completely closed. Payment (admittedly, surprisingly small) is accepted only in cash. There are no trash cans or restrooms (or so it seemed to me)."

"The exhibitions are varied. The prices are reasonable (30-150 rubles, photography costs 100). The staff is very helpful and warm. It's also open on weekends. Parking is a problem. The museum is a cultural component of the city. A wonderful place where history meets modernity!"
