The Great Menshikov Palace is the oldest building in Oranienbaum. The palace and its surroundings are filled with the spirit of the time, the era of transformation and the struggle for access to the Baltic Sea. Located almost at the very waters of the Gulf, the palace is connected to the sea and is directed towards it, as if it were the embodiment of the main goal of all the actions of Peter the G...

"I would very much like to go here again after they have a proper restoration going and completed. I did like it but there needs to be more that the public can see and enjoy. It is quite the interesting place to see and I hope everyone will go there. Surprised there were very few people there."

"An extraordinary exhibit of a Russian high life of the first quarter of the 18th century. The exposition is superb: the restaurateurs did an amazing job with this place, bringing it back to its original look! The entry fee is more than fair; the museum offers guided tours and audioguides that are top quality. Every room has an information plaque that are a pleasure to read: even if you don't follow a tour guide you'll still learn a lot. The plaques are in Russian and English. Also the museum workers are very friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to answer your questions, guys you are the stars!! ♥️♥️
And also they have a nice cafe in the garden if you want to take a break mid-tour. :)

"One of the buildings in the Hermitage, and the best example of a XVIII century house in Petersburg. First stone house in the city, frequented by Peter the I and most known because he staged a huge little-people wedding in here because he thought it was funny. But the house is blameless and still gorgeous, and you'll here a lot about the history of those times, including Menshikov's incredible ascension and downfall."
