"Church of the Transfiguration of Our Savior, built in 1507-1511 according to order of Grand Duke Vasily III of Moscow (1479-1533). Guriy Nikitin painted frescoes in this church in 1689. Spaso-Efimiyev Monastery. First Monastery existed at that place already in the end of X century but after uprising of local pagans in 1024 nothing left of that old monastery. Present Monastery was founded in 1352 by Duke Boris Constantinovich of Gorodets (? - 1394). Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without and video without flash light and tripod."
