Reviews Summary

Visitors generally appreciate the National Gallery Komi Republic for its focus on Komi artists and its role in showcasing regional culture. The staff are often described as friendly and knowledgeable, and the gallery hosts engaging events like 'Night of Museums.' However, some find the ticket prices high for modest exhibitions and the close monitoring by staff can be uncomfortable.

"This art gallery in Syktyvkar offers a variety of exhibits. I enjoy visiting here during my summer vacations to Syktyvkar. They seem to focus on Komi artists, which I believe helps to showcase Komi culture and talent.

The prices for the exhibits are reasonable and not too expensive, but there are some that are more expensive located in almost the same area. I think it would be better if they charged a flat rate but you get to see everything.

However, there’s one downside that prevents me from giving it a full 5 stars. The staff constantly follows you while you’re looking at the artwork. They’re almost breathing down your neck, making it uncomfortable to stand and talk to someone. I suggest that the gallery could teach these staff members about the artists or exhibits so they can contribute to the gallery and provide information to visitors. If they have questions, they should be able to answer them. Otherwise, the gallery should use security cameras to monitor visitors instead."

"Having paid 250 rubles for the opportunity to look at a dozen and a half of Vasily Kandinsky's not-so-outstanding works, you feel like an oligarch. Perhaps I'll come home and frame our tickets - I don't think we've ever had to pay that much money in a Russian museum for such a modest exhibition. By the way, you have to pay another 100 rubles for the right to photograph the exhibits in the gallery. There is also a separate price for photographing the sculptures in the garden near the gallery - also "a hundred." True, no one chased us or demanded this money; the staff is extremely friendly and polite."

"The ticket price is high for a very modest exhibition. Plus, the staff is constantly watching (and walking) you, you feel tense and can't relax. You can only take pictures for a fee, it's completely unclear why. Fortunately, they let you take pictures of the paintings' titles for free."
