Reviews Summary

Tula is praised for its impressive Weapons Museum, rich history, and delicious gingerbread. Visitors appreciate the city's blend of tradition and modernity, though some note that street cleaning could be improved. It's considered a worthwhile destination, especially for a day trip from Moscow.

"There was an opportunity to visit Tula. Two and a half hours of quite a decent road from Moscow. First of all, the factory of the famous Tula gingerbread. We ate nearby at the "Shchi-borscht" canteen. A three-course lunch for about 450 rubles. Then a master class at the factory. For 800 rubles per person, under the guidance of a master, we made one gingerbread. While we were baking, we gave them tea with gingerbread goodies. Naturally, we took the resulting masterpieces as souvenirs. We ate them on the way back. In the shop at the factory, there are fresh gingerbreads of every taste, color, shape and size. Next on the program is the Museum of Weapons. Despite the nondescript facades of the city, the streets not cleaned since winter, the saleswomen's counters that had passed from the Soviet era, the museum amazed. It amazed not only with its undoubtedly unique, rich collection, but also with its modern technological approach. Five floors of thematic expositions are decorated with the entire list of museum forms and methods. Everywhere there are interactive screens, reconstructions, moving holograms, mini-cinema corners with documentary films. Each floor has some kind of feature: a shooting range; a real helicopter cockpit with an integrated simulator where you can fly; a children's room where children can play games, draw, and also dress up in various costumes of movie characters - cartoons, take and take pictures with weapons; a cluster for young IT specialists with historical interactive quizzes, computer fights (you can choose opponents from different eras); a full-fledged cinema with thematic videos and films; a light shooting range. An integral part: a cafe, souvenir shops. We had a great time, everyone was happy. The cost of a full ticket is 550 rubles and this time it is certainly worth it. We got in on discounts. Veterans, large families, SVO participants and their families are free. Next is the Belousov Culture Park. Worthy of any capital. Fountains, playgrounds, rides, a real beach, running and cycling paths (there really are a lot of people doing sports), a small zoo. We had dinner at the barbecue bar "Ugolek" (1000 rubles per person) and returned satisfied. If you haven't been there, I recommend it."

"Good afternoon, today I'd like to share my impressions of my walk around Tula. There are many museums, attractions, beautiful places, and interesting monuments. It's a modern city with a long history. It's cozy, clean, and quiet, and there's a fantastic weapons museum.
Getting here from Moscow is very easy: there are commuter trains and buses, and you can find the latest schedules online.

I planned my route in advance so as not to waste time in the city itself. One day isn't enough, so I'll be returning to Tula again."

"A very beautiful city. I was there during the May holidays and only pleasant impressions remained. Must-see places: the Weapons Museum, the Tula Kremlin, the Memorial to the Defenders of Heaven and Yasnaya Polyana! I regret that I did not have time to see Yasnaya Polyana."
