"Solemn, detailed paintings."

"This amazing White Trinity Cathedral is the oldest surviving stone church in Tver. It was consecrated on August 15, 1564, the church was assigned to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. There was a legend that the “White Trinity” church did not pay taxes to the Tver bishop, that is, it was whitewashed from taxes, which is why it was called “white”.
The height of the temple is about 28 m, and it is beautiful, its whiteness eclipses absolutely the entire surrounding space.
The six small chapters, arranged three in a row, are unique. Architectural historians believe that there were originally two of them, or perhaps none at all. The windows of the church in the 16th century were narrow; later they were widened to provide greater illumination of the temple. Temple wall paintings date from the late 18th to mid-19th centuries.
The Royal Doors of the 18th century are a wonderful work in the Rococo style. The main iconostasis contains icons from the 17th-18th centuries. In Soviet times, after the closure and destruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral, the White Trinity Church was the cathedral church of Tver. Today in the church there is a great, miraculous shrine - a shrine with the relics of St. Macarius of Kalyazin."
