However, some note that the square can be quite dark at night, impacting the overall ambiance and perceived safety.

"A beautiful place for people to gather and see such historical places around this square"

"Dark at night. Even after New Year's midnight when there are lots of people."

Alexis Chernorechenski

"Beauty!!! Nearby is the building of the former City Duma, opposite the monument to Lenin (on a historical pedestal, instead of the monument to Emperor Alexander III) and the historical building of the Bank of Russia, in front of the beautiful snow-white Assumption Cathedral there is a decorated Christmas tree, next to a fair with various entertainment and treats, carousels, an ice skating rink, concert stages with a huge screen at the back and, of course, concerts, songs and dances every day. Special thanks for the fact that everything was perfectly cleared of snow, despite the daily snowfalls. Adults and children sing along with the artists and dance; everyone, everyone, everyone is smiling. Vladimir's Cathedral Square is a great place to celebrate the New Year and, in general, for a holiday!"
