While renovations can sometimes limit interior access, the stunning exterior, the 'Yaroslavl Candle' bell tower, and the picturesque riverside views are universally admired. The welcoming nature of the caretaker, who may grant access to the grounds and bell tower, is a frequently highlighted positive experience.

"The inside of the church was closed for renovation when I was there, but you could walk in the courtyard, so outside you can see everything. It's really beautiful. The perfect Russian church. Best in Yaroslavl."

Peter Ceulemans

"The church is one of the outstanding monuments of the Yaroslavl school of architecture and painting of the 17th century. The exact time of construction is unknown, so the year 1622, inscribed on one of the bells of the church, donated to the church by the Nezhdanovsky brothers, is considered the date of foundation.

From an architectural point of view, the church is a high quadrangle, crowned with 5 domes and surrounded on three sides by a gallery, completed by two symmetrical tower tent-roofed chapels.

The amazing harmony of the Korovnitsky church and the perfection of its silhouette served as a model for subsequent masters for a long time"

Марк Кузьмин (Krajaznaŭc)

"The temple complex in Korovniki. An architectural ensemble of rare beauty, consisting of the Church of St. John Chrysostom (1649-1654), the winter Church of the Meeting of the Icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir (1669), a high bell tower (1680s) and a fence with the Holy Gates facing the Volga. The complex was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church. When we arrived, we were disappointed, the gates to the complex were only slightly open. But knock, and they will open for you. The minister, by the way, disabled, with the words "well, come in, you must have come from far away" allowed us to look at the extraordinary Church of St. John Chrysostom, opened the bell tower. He told us a little about the history of this place. A HUGE THANK YOU TO HIM! We did not see the interior of the winter church - we did not abuse his hospitality. Be sure to visit. Better take a taxi."
