A fresco depicting the icon of the Mother of God "The Sign" adorned the eastern wall of the tower, and over time it became known as Znamenskaya. Over time, the Vlasyevskaya Tower was overgrown with extensions; in the second half of the 17th century, a chapel was added to the eastern wall, and then the Znamensky Church appeared in its place. The massive walls are equipped with oval loopholes and saltworks, the walls are crowned with battlements. After the October Revolution, a puppet theater and a cinema were located here, and the church returned here only in 2015. Now it is active, a Sunday school has been opened there. Once the interior of the Znamenskaya Church was famous for its rich paintings and two-tiered iconostases, but nothing has survived, today the walls of the temple remain bare, inside there is a modest iconostasis and an altar."
