What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Boucan Canot is a lively and beautiful white-sand beach, often compared to a mini-Copacabana, attracting a younger crowd. Visitors praise its warm waters, the unique natural rock pool, and the vibrant beachfront dining scene, especially for sunset views. However, some find the beach access rocky/shelly and note that parking can be a significant challenge.
"Boucan Canot is Reunion's trendiest beach, sort of like Reunion's own mini-Copacabana.
It's a beautiful and wide beach of white sand, very lively and busy at the weekends and attracts quite a young crowd. In the mornings there's not many people, and the sea is also usually very calm, that's my favorite time to visit. The sea is crazy warm, around 23C in the winter and 26C in the summer, I can stay in the water for hours.
Swimming is allowed but normally just within the shark nets. The currents are quite strong, the waves can be big, and the beach is quite steep so keep an eye on your kids. There's a natural pool formed by volcanic rocks at the north end of Boucan where conditions are calmer. The bottom of the pool is a little rocky, but a great place to be when the waves are big and crash in.
There's a bunch of restaurants and a couple of shops nearby. Great place for a day out, something to eat, a swim and some people-watching."

"Beatiful beach, next to the lifeguard tower there are toilets and showers you are free to use. The beach itself is free for access as well. Not many shades though."
