"At its peak -around 10 years ago-, Mall of Dhahran was one of the trendiest malls in the area & the go-to place for all things entertainment; arcades, shopping, food and merely just walking around.
Lately and especially after the recent fire -around 2 years ago- it is just not the same.
The mall is now half closed, the establishment never recovered and the quality of the stores & building is just not the same.
It is still a good place to visit and walk around or do some light shopping. However, if you are planning to do some serious shopping or if you are a tourist, I think you should opt to visit Alnakheel Mall in Dammam. It is much newer, cleaner and with many more name brand stores and local options.
Also, the Mall ventilation is not the best. It is always hot inside stores and is only breezy in the walkway between the actual stores.

The area close to panda smells and is annoying. It affects my decision to even shop close to it.
Significant part of the mall was burnt maybe three years ago, still not rebuilt.
