Reviews Summary

Dar Al Madinah Museum is praised as a hidden gem for its detailed exhibits on Islamic history and the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Visitors appreciate the informative guided tours and the opportunity for multiple visits with one ticket. However, some find the entrance fee high and note the lack of public transport, requiring taxi arrangements. InstagramReddit

"1. Far away from Masjid Nabawi (city centre).
2. No public transport available. Have to hire public taxi.
3. Museums near Masjid Nabawi are better options.
4. SAR.25 per person Entrance ticket is on higher side.
5. Instead of using models in congested place with a guide, it would have been better to use AI techniques with individual ear phones with various language options."

Nasser Mahmood

"I am giving 3 star for guide improvement {Urdu section} and for false information of Mud and saa ( by receptionist).

The museum is good — they give enough time to observe everything without rushing, and you can visit multiple times museum on the same ticket during the same visit.
The guide explained things fairly well within his limited knowledge, but they really need to visit these historical places themselves first. That way, they can explain with more confidence — like the village where Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) mother is buried.
They should read authentic historical books and personally explore these sites so that their explanations become more engaging and informative for visitors.

While promoting Mud and Saa’, the Pakistani person at reception wearing Saudi Toub with short beared told me it costs 500 riyals. I asked, "Why should I purchase it?" — just to check his intention and understanding of Aqidah.
(Mud and Saa’ are traditional Islamic units of measurement used during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW )

He replied, "There is barakah (blessing) in the Mud and Saa’."
I responded, "But it's made by you people."
He said, "There is barakah in the measurement itself."

Such beliefs need to be based on sound knowledge, not just cultural assumptions."

"Dar Al Madinah Museum is a hidden gem for anyone interested in Islamic history and the rich heritage of Medina. The museum offers detailed exhibits, artifacts, and visual presentations that beautifully showcase the history of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the early days of Islam, and the evolution of Medina.

The models and illustrations of the Prophet’s Mosque, Masjid Quba, and the Battle of Uhud make the experience truly engaging. The guided tours are informative and provide deep insights into the life and times of the Prophet (PBUH).

The museum is well-organized, clean, and air-conditioned, making it a comfortable visit for families and individuals alike. If you're in Medina, this is a must-visit spot to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic history.

Highly recommended for history lovers and those seeking spiritual enrichment!"
