Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Novi Sad City Museum Petrovaradin to be a worthwhile and affordable visit, particularly for its unique exhibition on Mileva Marić and its location within the historic Petrovaradin Fortress. While some feel the historical section could be more organized and the Mileva exhibition could offer more depth, the overall experience is highly regarded for its cultural significance and atmospheric setting. The cash-only policy and limited ATM access are recurring points of caution. Reddit

"There are two parts to the museum. The first is historical with artefacts dating from the prehistoric era. Information in Serbian and English. There is also a well down a small tunnel.
The second part is an exhibition on Mileva Maric (Einstein's 1st wife). This is very well put together and unique and gives a good insight into her life."

"I visited the museum during the exhibition dedicated to Mileva Marić and her life story. The setting inside the Petrovaradin Fortress adds a special atmosphere, and the ticket was very affordable, which made the visit even more accessible. The exhibition itself was informative and highlighted some touching moments from her life, but I couldn't help feeling that it only scratched the surface. With such a powerful and inspiring figure, I expected a bit more depth and creativity in the presentation. Still, it’s a meaningful place to visit if you’re interested in local history or just want to experience a museum inside one of Novi Sad’s most iconic landmarks"

Miodrag Jovic

"A good museum which is small in size but worth the visit and the entry cost. The main section contains a lot of history, quite jumbled up, in Serbian and English. It is a bit wordy but all interesting. They house a few artefacts from most time periods. There is a massive wooden boat that could be from any time period, and a giant well underneath it all which is a great experience to see. The barriers mean you can’t see down it though, you’re forced to stand on the railing for a second which seems counter-effective in safety design.

There is a cool and dark science-based section about Albert Einstein’s wife - a local. I really recommend seeing this as you’ll learn that they wrote papers together but they were all published in his name! A power couple yes but she is yet another under-appreciated woman of science.

They don’t take card! Cash only. The museum is in a very nice historic area with some outdoor attractions around it and a good view of the river. Toilet on site."
