"This site is approximately 1.5 km South from the Hillview MRT Station. Singapore Quarry is a tranquil nature spot tucked away at the edge of Dairy Farm Nature Park. Once an active granite quarry, it has since been transformed into a peaceful wetland habitat under the care of National Parks. It is now home to freshwater flora and fauna, as well as occasional birdlife. The quarry itself features steep rock faces, calm waters, and a sheltered viewing deck. It’s a great place to sit and take in the scenery and cool off after the uphill walk from the MRT Station. This is also a popular spot for bird photographers who can be seen here in the earlier part of the morning.

"Once an active quarry, it was closed in the 70s when the government ordered all granite quarrying activities on the mainland to cease.
Now, a tranquil and scenic spot with a lake and tall vertical cliff faces, it is in the Dairy Farm Nature Park in the Bukit Timah area. The place, with an observation deck with safety railings, is also a favourite spot for nature lovers and bird watchers, as seen by the number of cameramen with telescopic lenses at the site.
I am not sure of how many ways to access the quarry but I access it from the Rail Corridor via a slight slope and across an old, disused concrete bridge, up another short slope and then the paved road to the quarry. Do look out for the wildlife along the way, as this is a nature reserve after all. The monkeys there will try to attack you and grab your belongings if they think you have food. Do not feed them at all times."
