The Blue Church (aka Church of St. Elizabeth) in Bratislava, Slovakia

First time I've seen something on here I've been to before. I saw this during a "free" walking tour in Bratislava. Definitely worth checking out.

Some pictures of my three days Bratislava trip.

While often being cut out of the main touristic routes in Europe, the capital of Slovakia is truly a Gem, with interesting architecture, unique landmarks and great food and pubs.

One day in Bratislava by car

Hello, we have 1 day in Bratislava (today, Sunday). We have a 1-year-old kid and an old woman. We thought of visiting the old town. 1. Where can we park the car without getting fined? 2. Any tips on must-see places in 2-3 hours? 3. Are supermarkets open today?

Visitors are captivated by the Blue Church's unique, fairytale-like Art Nouveau architecture and its striking sky-blue facade. Many praise its distinctive beauty and consider it an iconic Bratislava landmark. However, its extremely limited and often inconvenient opening hours are a frequent point of frustration, with many struggling to see the interior.

"Bratislava- Slovakia 🇸🇰

The Blue Church – officially known as the Church of St. Elizabeth – is one of the most iconic landmarks in Bratislava, Slovakia.😇♥️

Situated in the Old Town, about 10 minutes’ walk from the city center

Sky blue façade, mosaics, and roof tiles — hence the nickname “The Blue Church”
Oval church nave with a cylindrical tower. Decorated with white and blue majolica tiles. Interior is equally blue-themed, with painted pews, walls, and ceilings. Contains an image of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, to whom it is dedicated.

Don’t miss this Holy place and architectural marvel if you’re around Bratislava 🫶🏻♥️"

"This is the icon of Bratislava. One of the churches with the most beautiful architecture. If you don't visit it, it's like you haven't been to Bratislava. I visited it three times, but I only found it open the third time. It has strange opening hours. A fascinating building, with beautiful blue architecture, that beckons you and will entice you to visit it. It's not very far from the center. All three times I visited, there were tourists taking pictures of it from the outside.
It operates from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and from 17:30 to 19:00 p.m."

"Little blue church. Little church in the eastern side of the old town of Bratislava. Interior is nicely decorated with many altars. It is located next to the gymnasium and walkable from the tram stop. Nice and quiet place to visit and pray."
