We arrived just before 10am and the free car park was already about 80% full so it's worth getting there early if you're driving. There's a big sign warning you not to leave valuables in the car but we didn't see any sign of break-ins
The zoo is great, €27 for a family ticket which we thought was very reasonable. The animals all seem well cared for and many of the enclosures are wonderfully large and modern, offering the animals lots of privacy but still good viewing for the public!
We had a super time here, spent over 5 hours wandering around (we didn't bother with the train, the walk is very manageable and not too steep). There are lots of picnic areas and a wonderful playground."

"Had a lovely afternoon, beware there are very steep inclines and stairs, for those with reduced mobility it maybe best to use the train with small fee to get to the top of areas and walk down.

"Absolutely lovely experience. Last time I visited was at least a decade ago and I can see all the positive changes done to the area.
Payment for entrance is possible by cash, card or Multisport (which was a nice surprise). There are maps and way signs everywhere making it easy to navigate the vast area.
Getting here on a not scorching hot day is advised as the visit includes a lot of walking. Reserve at least 3-4 hours to see everything at least briefly or more if you want to read all the information. There is also a small train going through the area for a reasonable price.
There are options for refreshments in the area if you need a small break.
Don't forget to visit the indoor expositions of more animals. These areas were especially nicely surprising.
The employees were nice, despite us leaving very close to the closing time they knew we were excited to see the animals and we didn't feel like we were being rushed out.
Overall a very nice experience and definitely coming back soon."
