What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Planica Nordic Centre for its impressive ski jumping facilities, stunning alpine setting, and the electric atmosphere during competitions. The well-maintained grounds and the opportunity to witness world-class athletes train year-round are major highlights. Some minor inconveniences include potential walking distances from parking during peak events and the cash-only policy at the Tamar hut.
"We were here for a men’s ski flying competition. Although on the first evening, before the even started we weren’t allowed to drive all the way up and we had to walk, on the days of the event, there was enough parking and we were able to drive all the way up to the free parking and then we walked a bit to get in with our tickets.
There was a big tent where you could buy food and drinks and some other smaller areas for treats or souvenirs.
Depending on your ticket you can be seated or standing, we got the cheaper tickets so we were standing, but it was all well, you can walk around and change the angle of view if you want to."

"Great place where ski jumping is a cult. Parking was not busy on Thursday around noon. The price is 4 Euros/day for a car. There is also a camper stop for 23 Euro per night with electricity and toilets.
Starting point for a great hike through the Tamar valley up to the Tamar hut (called mountain home) which is 4 kilometers in one direction and you can choose one of the two paths through the valley. Have in mind that at the Tamar hut they only accept cash payments, no cards."
