What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Svinjak is praised for its stunning summit views and the unique experience of hiking past WWI fortress remains. While the trail is steep and requires a head for heights, most hikers find the challenge rewarding. Some visitors enjoyed the company of friendly local goats, adding a memorable touch to their trek.
"Very nice hike up there. Trail is well marked to the top. Last hundred meters are quite steep but not very hard. Wouldn't take small kids, too dangerous for them to slip and fall. I thought that the descent would make my thighs burn, but it wasn't that bad. The top is the end of the trail, no other further path available."

"Goat Rosa and her baby goat went with us to the top of Svinjak. They are very friendly, sometimes lick your foot (and always go before you and start to eat, shit or piss). They start to be little aggresive if you have food. They left us for a moment and went with other tourists. We were happy at first, but we started to miss them after a while. Fortunatelly they came back.
Anyway, trip without Rosa would be a little bit boring at the beginning. But it is quite steep and exposed at the end. Good shoes are a must. Views are really nice."

"A beautiful but steep and strenuous hike to the top. Allow about 2-3h to get to the top from the town Kal-Koritnica, depending on your fitness level. Good balance and a head for heights is recommended especially at the top where one has to scramble and use cables as guiderails. The views at the peak speak for themselves."
