What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Zandvliet Wine Estate is lauded for its exceptional wines, particularly its Shiraz, and a delightful tasting experience in its beautiful underground cellar. While the wine quality and knowledgeable staff receive high praise, some visitors note that certain areas of the estate appear neglected, and the tasting fee is on the higher side compared to neighboring estates.
"Hands down the best cellar experience in Robertson. Delightful and knowledgeable hostess, gorgeous wines and the best pairing in the valley. What a treat. Don’t miss this farm!"
Zara Langford
"The wine is great but at R110 per person tasting it is expensive compared to other wine estates in the area. Where at most other wine estates in Robertson you get refunded for your tasting if you buy wine, Zandvliet don't. The cheese platter is very nice and well priced. The lady that did the tasting was very friendly."
Dr Dors
"A Shiraz stalwart estate in the Breederiver valley, refered to as "The Home of Shiraz" but also easily the undisputed "Home of Neglect."
The Yard:
A true 1⭐️ experience starting when you pass through the gates. Sad surroundings await, the once stately buildings are in a shocking state. Clearly the owner(s) allow this and have no respect for their assets nor visitors. A testament to why the parking lot is always empty. Shame on you!
The Wines and Tasting Room:
A 4⭐️ experience! Stunning tasting room and underground cellar is a must visit! Enon still reign supreme, but do not miss the opportunity to taste the Muscat. Not too sweet and slightly acidic and sultry. Pour it over some crushed ice and sip away at sunset or after dinner."
