"At the northernmost point of the Umhlanga Promenade is the entrance to the uMhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve boardwalk.
The boardwalk and surrounds are well maintained. There is only one bench along the boardwalk; it offers lovely beach views. At the end of the boardwalk is the Forest Café. The first time I visited was during the week and it was relatively quiet. The second time was on a Saturday and it was much busier, but not crowded."

"Terrain - Easy walk just one or two sandy hills for those with mobility issues.
Length - 30-45 min at normal walking pace
Paths - Left takes you down to the beach. Right takes you to the coffee shop and the promenade if you keep to the left.
Animals - plenty of bird life and you will tend to see deer as well.
Overall impression - highly recommended if you’re in the area."
