Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Free State National Botanical Garden for its serene, tranquil, and peaceful atmosphere, calling it an 'amazing gem of nature' perfect for a healing experience. While the natural beauty and walking paths are highlights, some guests have encountered disruptions from maintenance activities like lawn mowing, which can generate dust.

"I was at the garden on the 21st of August 2025, relaxing with my fiance, when Botanical garden employee started lawn mowing the grass with a tractor that was making a lot of dust to the nearby we were sitting on.

I found it very unprofessional, inconsiderate and disrespectful for the fact that he didn't let us know that he's going to cut the grass, and we should maybe shift from we're currently sitting. He didn't consider letting us know, he just started the machine and didn't care whether the dust is coming towards us or not. But I would give the place a 5 star, I love it's serenity, tranquility and such a peaceful place. Thank you."
