Naval Hill is praised for its free entry, impressive Nelson Mandela statue, and stunning panoramic views of Bloemfontein, especially at night. However, the condition of the restrooms is a significant drawback, and some caution is advised regarding unsolicited photo services.
"A little hill you can drive up by car. The statue of Nelson Mandela is cool. The view over Bloemfontein is ok, but the city isnt the pretties. You might see some animals up top, but you'd better off in a bigger National Park like Addo."

"If you decide to hike up this will be your highlight. The overview sight of Bloemfontein city along with the large statue are an unbeatable combo. If you are tired one can sit the benches. Beware of squirrels lurking around. Remember to bring some water and stay hydrated"
Tendeso Musimwa
"Naval Hill is a beautiful nature reserve that needs a little TLC to make it awesome.
The reserve is easy to find and has ample parking within the reserve. There is security at the gate and at no point does one feel unsafe. There are trail runners and walkers, as well as people bringing coffee to enjoy the view. Viewing points by the statue are plentiful and offer beautiful views of Bloemfontein. Within the reserve, you will see a variety of different animals.
The old braai areas need attention, or to be marked as "no braai" areas due to fire risk.
The bathrooms are awful. There is no water and several toilets are completely broken. This is unacceptable and needs urgent attention.
A great place to visit overall, provided you use the toilet in town..."
