What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dikhololo Game Reserve offers a unique experience with abundant wildlife roaming freely and a wide range of family-friendly activities. While the amenities and natural setting are praised, some guests note issues with thin walls, additional costs for amenities, and the need for maintenance and service improvements. The gravel road access is also a point of contention for some.
"The facilities are great, there is lots of activities to do. But the service can be improved, when we arrived the grocery cardboard was dirty, kids bedding had sand, we found a dirty sock on the sofa from previous guests. The rooms were lovely. You however needs to buy your own electricity for the aircons. There are also activities that you have to pay for. Also keep windows and doors closed to avoid monkeys. The resturant service is a bit slower. There's a daily programme of activities which we enjoyed. Its a relaxing environment."

"The good:
1. Really great amenities for the kids and family - it was a blast!
2. Great that you are in such close proximity to wildlife - no need to even take a game drive! Animals roam the resort freely.
3. Breakfast was simple but tasty, especially the beef mince dish!
4. The staff were friendly
The bad:
1. We could hear everything going on in the adjoining rooms. The walls are so thin!
2. The rooms really need an update. The floors were filthy!
3. Reception is a nightmare to get a hold of! No one answers calls. We had to drive to reception to get help.
4. Due to animals roaming freely, there are a lot of poop and bugs. I would highly suggest a mesh/net barrier between the main doors and the inside of the rooms. It would allow some cool air in whilst not worrying about all the flies and bugs. You cannot even have a decent meal outside! At least advise guests to bring some stuff to help.
5. Everything has an additional fee! Even the use of the heated pool. Make sure you get a printout prior so you are not left spending more than you planned.
6. There is no WiFi in the rooms and our room came with aircon units for our stay. We were mindful of not finishing it. Really different experience.
7. That 11km dirt road! It can be really harsh on cars.
8. Beds are extremely hard
Overall, it's a 3 star resort for a reason. Nice experience overall."

"Maintenance on the room we stayed in was not on par at all. Bit address in email to them. The service at gate and front desk was great from some and not so great from others. The cleaning staff is well not all on standard for the upper class venue.
The cutlery was terrible and cheap and the corkscrew was flimsy as can be. Don't expect a great kitchen.
The gravel road from both sides is a horrible corrugated gravel road. BUT the game on the resort was stunning. We saw so many bird and buck species it was marvellous.
Overall I will definitely 😁 recommend visiting this resort. Nothing in this world is perfect."
