Visitors rave about the vibrant atmosphere, diverse food options, and unique artisan crafts at Bay Harbour Market. The live music and scenic harbour views add to its appeal, making it a popular weekend destination. Some find the journey long via public transport and parking can be chaotic, but the overall experience is highly recommended for its lively vibe and local finds.

"After visiting the local distillery thought I’d check out the local markets. Very interesting with some local craft work and unusual souvenirs. Also local and multi cultural food on offer as well as clothing, fruit, cured meats etc. I really loved some of the metal sculptures outside. Good to chat to several of the local stall owners. Great vibe! Most vendors prefer cash but cards and tap pay are available. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas and tables and the outdoor area has a great view of the mountains. Really worth a visit if you are in the area. Had some great oysters and calamari at Seabar❣️"

There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas and tables, and the outdoor area has a great view of the mountains.

That said, I took the bus and the trip took about an hour and a half. In all honesty, compared to how small the market actually is, I didn’t feel it was worth the long journey. If you have a car, it might be more convenient and worthwhile. But if you're relying on public transport, be prepared for a lengthy trip for what is ultimately a brief visit."

"Loved the vibe here! The whole market has such a cool, laid-back atmosphere with live music, friendly people, and tons of amazing food options. Whether you’re into local dishes, seafood, sweet treats, or just a good cup of coffee — there’s something for everyone.

Lots of creative stalls too, selling handmade crafts, clothes, and art. Great spot to pick up unique souvenirs or gifts.

It can get a bit crowded, but in a fun, energetic way. If you’re around Hout Bay over the weekend, definitely worth a visit — especially on a Friday night for the live music and food!"
