I originally booked just one night at Silvermist, but I ended up staying for my entire trip, that’s how special this place is. It’s absolutely gorgeous: clean, cozy, and thoughtfully detailed in every corner of the cottage.
I stayed in The Squirrel 🐿️ Cottage, which offered stunning mountain views. The room came with a beautiful bonfire setup, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with spotless, crisp linens and a heated mattress pad that made chilly nights extra cozy.
The wine was a standout , certified organic and absolutely delicious. I had three bottles over my first night and, remarkably, no hangover at all!

"We visited this winery as part of the Constantia Valley Wine Route but would probably say to give it a miss if you don’t have time. It wasn’t that great. We were the only people there, and when we started the wine tasting, we were told that the wine taster (?) was busy with another party (nowhere to be seen) and would be along soon. He arrived after 15 mins or so and proceeded to quickly run us through everything available. We finished our 4 wines and upon paying asked if we could keep the winery-stamped glasses or pay for them. We were told in no uncertain terms “No”.
Ok then.
Atmosphere was cold, staff were seemingly in a rush (for an empty vineyard, which was strange) and we just didn’t get a sense that we were made to feel welcome."
