While most experiences are highly positive, a few guests have noted occasional inconsistencies in reception or tasting options.
"The first winery in the Hemel en Aarde. One to definitely visit when in the area. Excellent wines, very knowledgeable staff, beautiful quaint tasting room, and stunning views. I was also lucky to have a tour of the cellar, always interesting to see all the barrels"

"A high profile estate that pioneered Burgundy wines in the cooler southern region of the Western Cape.. and it was with great expectations that we headed there for a visit. Unfortunately I was rather disappointed with the tepid reception.. and sub-standard wine tasting experience. We were only allowed to taste the most recent vintage.. there was only “tap water” available to cleanse our palates.. and we could only purchase the latest vintage.. enough said..
Ashbourne blend was the only saving grace"

"I was here for wine tasting. First of all, I highly suggest you come here during weekdays as there are less people. I literally had the wine cellar to myself. The wine tasting is very affordable R100 and I tasted 4 wines, 2 were tgeur own and the other two was from their sister Vineyards. The wines tasted absolutely exquisite with pleasant flavours. The views and scenery are to die for. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you want Pinot noir and Chardonnay you have come to the right place."
