What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Johannesburg City Library has made a welcome return, impressing visitors with its vast collection and revitalized, tranquil atmosphere. While some newer books and clearer section labeling are desired, and Wi-Fi can be unreliable, the library's historic charm, excellent children's section, and free membership make it a valuable community resource. [^Review]
"Joining back in time ...1935. ... to the future
What an impressive library, the size and content is mind blowing. Reading and vision of people during the 1900 to build a library this size really show and eagerness to grow knowledge.
This is a must see, and can take up your whole day, specially if you a reader.

"Went to the Johannesburg library, it's still a beautiful building, that has lost none of its charm. Alot more newer, relevant books are needed, if they hope to encourage reading or increase the number of people who come to the library. Labeling the different sections would help, when looking for a specific book. It's still early days and hopefully this historic institution will go from strength to strength, as it makes a welcome if overdue return."
