What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the stunning natural beauty of the Knysna Lagoon Estuary, highlighting the breathtaking views of the Heads and the tranquil waters. The exceptional hospitality and attention to detail from accommodation staff are frequently mentioned, making guests feel like family. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some guests have noted potential noise issues from the nearby N2 highway in certain accommodations.
"Having a fabulous stay at On the Estuary. Being treated like a king by the wonderful staff. Room is spacious as is the bathroom. Everything is spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast in the sparkling dining room. Lots of free parking. Two lovely small swimming pools with braai facilities on site. It is fairly close to the highway but I have found that to be no problem whatsoever. There are emergency lights in the room to help with those infernal loadshedding issues. Also steps away is an excellent restaurant called Muse and a superb Thai massage studio. Would I stay at this 4 star bnb again ? In a heartbeat !"

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay with our two teenage kids. Fantastic hospitality, beautiful rooms with so much care for detail. I learned some about art deco! We enjoyed our walk from On The Estuary by the lagoon to the waterfront harbor and walked back. We had a relaxing Happy Hour at the bar and a delicious dinner and breakfast! Thanks for accommodating us and also helping us make activity reservations! There is so much to see and do! We can’t wait to be back in Knysna!"

"Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Knysna on a business trip with seven other colleagues.
After a tiring 7,5 hours of travelling, the kitchen stayed open for us. The hospitality of those who assisted us at the tables was second to none. They were friendly and just amazing to speak to.
Our accommodation was beautifully situated in what can only be described as an Eden.
Quick to solve a problem: when the person who made our booking got the dates wrong, the hostess came up with a plan in a flash. Within just a few minutes, the accommodation was sorted out. Thank you! Baie dankie.
They made us feel like family, and this was our first visit to them."
