What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Kings Kloof Trails for its beautiful scenery, well-marked paths, and affordability. The stunning waterfall is a major highlight, and the variety of trail distances caters to all fitness levels. Some find the longer trails challenging but rewarding, with escape routes available. The on-site restaurant adds to the convenience.
"This was a very pleasant surprise. We were on our way elsewhere, but landed up pivoting and coming to King's Kloof for a hike. The trails are very well marked. We did the yellow 6 KM one as we started late in the day and had our 4 year old with us, who completed the hike successfully without being carried once. The waterfall is quite nice and the rivers clean. A shorter version routining round the dam and to the waterfall would be nice, and is definitely plausible as the route twists and turns and you can see where you were 1km ago on a few places. Overall, we'll be back and we are excited to try the restaurant, we were too late this time around, but the food smelt absolutely amazing. Definitely worth a visit."

"✨ Kings Kloof Trails – Muldersdrift ✨
We recently spent the day at Kings Kloof Trails and what an experience it was! Entrance is very reasonable at R50 for adults and R25 for children, making it a great outing for families.
There are four different trails to choose from, each increasing in distance and difficulty, so whether you’re a casual walker or a more serious hiker, there’s something for everyone. Some sections of the trails are wonderfully shady, which makes the walk more comfortable and not too hot even in the warmer months.
The highlight has to be the absolutely stunning waterfall – the perfect spot to pause, take in the beauty, and snap a few memorable photos. Truly, a gem of natural beauty right on Johannesburg’s doorstep.
There’s also a small restaurant on-site if you’d like to grab something to eat after your hike, adding to the convenience of the day.
We are so blessed to have places like this so close to home – a reminder of how much natural beauty Johannesburg has to offer. 🌿💦"
