The memorial commemorates the Afrikaans language, a blend of influences from many languages. Built in the mi-1970s, the memorial is a soaring architectural design marvel and engineering/construction feat. And, as with many Cape sites, the landscaping was carefully curated and maintained and the views spectacular."
